Children’s Feedback Forms for Reviews; the Survey Monkey 11-18 questionnaire was shared on screen;
A question the group felt was important to ask was ‘how did you feel the first time you came into care’ and maybe compare this to now?
They felt that the guides were a little bit childish, and the age gap was too wide i.e., 11 to 18.
Suggested that the questionnaires should be split into
11 to 15 and 16 to 18.
They felt the older age range questions could be much more open-ended and less questions would be better.
They felt that a blended approach to gaining feedback was good so perhaps through e-mail or through WhatsApp or even a telephone call which could be then written up by a worker.
The question around bullying was not relevant to this form - carers and others should know if they're being bullied and they might be too embarrassed to answer this question here. They understood the need to ask a question about whether everything is OK and suggested a simple question maybe with emojis or something similar or how do you feel at the moment might be a good idea.
Next Meeting
30/07/2024 – which is sooner than planned due to not having enough time to go through the forms and the number of projects that the Youth Council have been asked to look at.
